President Leadership Descriptions
President Elect
- Presides over general meetings and chairs the Executive Committee
- Appoints committees as necessary with approval of the Executive Committee.
- Presents summary of the year's activities and status of the Association for members
- Provides general supervision of the Association
- Communicates and coordinates the Association with Texas Psychological Association
Past President
- Member of Executive Committee
- Serves as Program and Activities Chairperson
- Coordinates and accounts for Continuing Education Credits for members
- Familiarizes with Association affairs in preparation for becoming President
- Functions as Legislative liaison and communicates with TPA
- Directs the compilation of the Association Directory
Treasurer
- Member of Executive Committee
- Provides continuity to planning for the Association and Executive Committee
- Serves as Chairperson of the Nominating Committee and coordinates election of officers
- Assumes duties of President should President be incapacitated or resign
- Directs special projects and serves as community liaison
Secretary
- Member of Executive Committee
- Serves as fiscal officer and accounts for Association's bank account, income, and disbursements holding custody of all funds and property
- Prepares Association budget, and projects expenditures and income
- Makes an annual fiscal report to the Association
- Coordinates with Membership Chairperson on member's dues and new members
- Maintains a timely accounting and checkbook record
Standing Committees
- Member of the Executive Committee
- Maintains minutes of all general meetings and of the Executive Committee
- Serves as the Association Historian
- Coordinates all Association correspondence and mailings
- Monitors the Association mail and mail box
- Coordinates with Newsletter Chairperson production of newsletter
- Coordinates with the Membership Chairperson a membership roster
- Membership - Member status and renewal, recruitment of new members
- Newsletter - Preparation and distribution of directory, newsletter, and mailings
- Practice Development - Practice development, encourages communication among members on practice matters, monitors legislative and other actions which affect members
